The four Cs, explained simply.

Carat weight, cut, colour and clarity are part of the evaluation. The setting, condition and characteristics of the complete piece also matter.

Carat weight
Carat describes the weight of a diamond. It is one factor, rather than a complete description of value.

Cut
We consider the stone’s proportions, facets and finish, and how they contribute to its appearance.

Colour
The diamond’s colour characteristics are considered as part of its individual assessment.

Clarity
Internal features and surface characteristics are part of the picture, alongside the other qualities of the stone.

Include receipts, an original box or other useful documents.
Leave mounted diamonds in their settings.

What sizes of diamonds do you consider?

We are particularly interested in diamonds from 0.50 carat, including GIA-certified stones of 1 carat and above. If you are unsure about your piece, send us its details before your visit.

Do I need a certificate to ask for an evaluation?

A laboratory report is useful if you have one. If you do not, contact us about your piece so we can explain the appropriate next step.

Should I remove the diamond from my ring?

Leave it in place before your visit. We can examine the piece and discuss what is needed for its evaluation.

Do you also consider coloured stones?

Yes, you can ask us about coloured diamonds and jewellery with stones such as rubies, emeralds or sapphires. Send the details you have so we can guide you.
